Darryl Morden Passes

DARRYL MORDEN, 52, a passionate, but always kind, caring and sweet-natured music journalist whose outlets included Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Buzzine, examiner.com and Launch/Yahoo, passed away after a long, brave battle with cancer on Feb. 25. Morden was the head writer and producer of American Top 40 with Casey Kasem, and later, Shadoe Stevens. He also created, produced and edited the World Chart Show, the first of its kind dedicated to a world-wide audience. He leaves behind his wife Barbara Seals and son Declan, both of whom he was devoted to, as expressed in his frequent Facebook postings. If you wish to help them out, please go to the Helping Hand site here. In lieu of flowers, donations of any kind to help offset medical expenses can be sent to: Morden Medical Fund, 4733 Radford Ave. No. 4, Valley Village, CA 91607. Darryl was a real prince, one of the true good guys in this sometimes harsh business. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues. (2/28p)
