Grooveshark Bites Off Two More Indies

GROOVESHARK NABS TWO: There are many people who feel the best music subscription service on the market is Grooveshark, some of those are even inside Universal Music Group, which is suing the company for massive copyright infringements. That hasn’t stopped the music streaming entity from inking agreements with leading indies Merge and Ultra Records, home of, among others, Arcade Fire and deadmau5, joining the influential Merlin label in the fold. "Grooveshark is an exciting and versatile new service for us, providing quality tools for reaching new markets of online music fans," said Wilson Fuller, Merge’s Digital Assets Manager. "Their experience and partnership is already valued as a burgeoning, integral part of our online strategy." (3/8a)
