Apple in the Clouds

APPLE PATS BUNNY: Apple’s new MobileMe cloud-based streaming service, reportedly due next month, has signed on the Warner Music Group, according to a report on The Music Void website. Sources say Apple is using its deal with WMG to leverage other labels to come aboard in time for the April launch. The “locker” service will reportedly have a $20 annual price tag as has been called “your digital life stored in the cloud.” Apple’s iTunes music streaming service would provide backups of downloaded songs, allowing downloads to iPad, iPod and iPhone devices linked to the same account. Amazon and Google are both reportedly setting up competing services. (3/28p)
