Beyonce Splits With Dad
FATHER DOESN’T KNOW BEST: Beyonce has dropped dad Mathew Knowles as her manager, issuing a statement yesterday that the Grammy-winning singer and her father have parted ways “on a business level.” Mathew has managed his daughter since she debuted in the late '90s as the lead singer of Destiny's Child, while her mother, Tina Knowles, was her stylist. Beyonce's father went on to manage the solo careers of her groupmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams as well as his daughter Solange. Both Rowland and Williams have severed professional ties with him. "He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly," said Beyonce in a short statement. Though rumors have her being managed by Jay Brown at husband Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, no new deal has been announced. (3/29p)
