UMG, Billabong Partner

MORE BILLABONG FOR HIS BUCK: Universal Music Group has pacted with leading outdoor sports lifestyle company Billabong for a brand partnership to bring together music and action sports through a broad range of products and new services. The announcement was made by UMG Chairman/CEO Lucian Grainge and Billabong CEO Derek O’Neill. Among the initiatives will be co-produced premium audio/visual content, live events, music compilations, digital download offers, preloaded audio/visual hardware, streaming radio and TV, and a dedicated music service. “UMG and Billabong represent a unique partnership between two progressive companies that share a passion for creating compelling products and engaging experiences for consumers,” said Grainge. “and all I get is this lousy T-shirt?"
