Civil Wars benefit concert

DEVASTATION HITS HOME: The Civil Wars have already raised more than $20k through a special benefit concert that took place May 25 at the venberable Shoals Theater in Muscle Shoals, with 100% of the proceeds were donated directly toward tornado victims. The concert also featured guest appearances by Dylan LeBlanc and Doc Dailey & Magnolia Devil. Said the band’s John Paul White, a native of Florence, “The devastation around here can't be summed up very easily; not in words, pictures or video. It's everywhere we look—the lines at the gas pumps, the lines at the hotels, the desperation for generators, water, non-perishable food. I, just like everyone else here, have close friends and family that have lost everything.” (6/7a)
