dB's free download

FREE DOWNLOAD OF THE DAY: The dB'sPeter Holsapple, Gene Holder, Will Rigby and Chris Stamey—one of then-teenaged Ivana’s favorite bands of the ’80s, have reunited and are making a new album, Falling Off the Sky, due in spring of 2012. They’re teasing it by offering the track "Revolution of the Mind" for free download at www.thedbs.com. The high-energy rocker includes additional "revolutionary" guitar by fellow college-rock avatar Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo. “The MC5 played in our hometown of Winston-Salem, NC, in 1971,” Stamey noted, with a nod to the timely track’s sonic and political inspiration, “and none of us were ever the same again.” (10/20a)
