Talking About Re:Generation

TALKING ABOUT RE:GENERATION: Electronic producer/DJs Mark Ronson, DJ Premier, The Crystal Method, Pretty Lights and Skrillex are the subjects of Re:Generation, a new documentary co-produced by Coran Capshaw's Greenlight Media & Marketing in association with the Recording Academy, due out in February. The film looks at the history, songwriting and studio process of different musical genres with the tag line “5 DJs Turn the Tables on the History of Music.” Ronson will work in the jazz genre with Erykah Badu, Mos Def and Trombone Shorty; DJ Premier in classical with Nas and the Berklee Symphony Orchestra; The Crystal Method in R&B with Martha Reeves; Pretty Lights in country with Dr. Ralph Stanley and LeAnn Rimes and Skrillex in classic rock with members of The Doors. The film was directed by Amir Bar Lev, who made the award-winning documentaries My Kid Could Paint That and The Pat Tillman Story. Listen to the songs here. (11/1a)
