Songs for Japan Raises $10 million

TURNING JAPANESE: Senior executives from EMI, Sony Music, Universal Music and Warner Music Group greet Japanese Red Cross Society VP Yoshiharu Otsuka in Tokyo last night to mark the raising and donating of $10m from global sales of Songs for Japan, the star-studded album collection created to raise money for victims of Japan’s 2011 earthquake and tsunami disasters. Pictured after several rounds of sake, which reduced the donation amount by half, are (l-r): EMI Music Asia Pacific/Latin America President Adrian Cheesley; WMI General Counsel Chris Ancliff; Otsuka; UMG International COO Max Hole, and SME Int'l.
