GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT: Online fans played a considerable role in the outcome of the 2011 AMAs, Digital Media Wire noted.  The nominees were selected from both BigChampagne’s Ultimate Chart and Mediabase, and the winners were chosen by online public voting. The Sunday special also included an online pre-show streamed worldwide at ABC.com, Livestream.com/AMAs and other partner sites. Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! @ the 2011 AMAs was a complement to ABC’s pre-show live broadcast Countdown to the American Music Awards. (11/22a)
