That total wasn’t even in the same ballpark, so to speak, as overnight Nielsen estimates for NBC’s Sunday Night Football matchup between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles, which earned the night's top mark with a 7.3/17 in the demo and 17.5 million total viewers. The game turned out to be more compelling than had been anticipated, given numerous injuries to Eagles’ skill-position players like QB Michael Vick and receiver Jeremy Macklin, with the Eagles winning in an upset, 17-10.
