Beyonce, Jay-Z Give Birth

IT’S A GIRL: Mazel tov to Jay-Z and Beyonce on the birth of baby girl Blue Ivy Carter Saturday night (1/7) at Manhattan’s Lenox Hill Hospital. The singer had checked in under the name “Ingrid Jackson” earlier that evening. Celebrity pals weighed in on Twitter with their congratulations, welcoming the music power couple's first child, including Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Russell Simmons and P. Diddy. Speculation about the youngster’s name has been that Ivy derives from the roman numeral for four, “IV,” since Beyonce’s birthday is Sept. 4 and Jay-Z’s Dec. 4, while the two were married on April, 4, 2008.
