Imagem inks Sammy Cahn catalog

YES THEY CAHN: On the heels of the parent company’s re-upping with Irving Berlin Music, Imagem Music USA has announced a worldwide, multi-year publishing deal with the Sammy Cahn estate. That gives the Dutch-owned Imagem control of such standards as “Three Coins in the Fountain” (1954 Oscar winner), “Come Fly With Me,” “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,” “Love and Marriage” and “Saturday Night Is the Loneliest Night of the Week.” Said Tita, Cahn’s wife of 22 years, "Sammy always said, ‘If the song is #1, I wish my name were on it!’ He was definitely not an old stuffy pretentious guy who closed his ears to any form of music. He embraced it all, and I know he would have loved the energy at Imagem, where rock & roll, hip-hop and rap, Broadway and classical live side by side.” Added Imagem USA President Richard Stumpf, "Not many writers can say their songs defined a generation, but Sammy Cahn's songs did just that. They transcended his time, too, and are as vibrant today as when they were written. We are honored that Tita has chosen us to manage these legendary copyrights and can’t wait to get started.” (1/19a)
