21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN: Yesterday, I.B. Bad—whose online-only new column has just posted—broke the news that Atlantic/Elektra exec Mike Caren is expected to make a new deal at Sony Music, and that his close colleague John Janick may be the next to jump ship, as instability grows among the executive ranks of WMG (see items below). Meanwhile, back at Warner Bros. Records, it's business as usual, with uber-producer and WBR Chairman/CEO Rob Cavallo otherwise occupied, making a three-record suite for Green Day, to be released sequentially over the next nine months.
