Legendary Village Venue Shuttered

CASTAWAYS CAST ASIDE: Historic N.Y. rock venue Kenny’s Castaways, a key club for Bruce Springsteen in the early days, which has also hosted the likes of Patti Smith, the Fugees and Yoko Ono, has shuttered. Co-owner Marla Kenny cites a rent that has doubled over the past five years for the closure of the Village club at the corner of Bleecker and Thompson Streets. Willie Nile and the Smithereens played the final show last night. (10/2a)
