Akinah Rahmaan upped at IDJ

RAH-RAH, SIS BOOM-BAH: Akinah Rahmaan has been upped to VP Marketing for IDJ, SVP Marketing Chris Atlas announced. The New York-based Rahmaan will oversee and direct marketing campaigns on behalf of her roster of IDJ acts, which includes Frank Ocean, Big Sean, Pusha T, Jhene Aiko, Fabolous, Luke James and Teyana Taylor. Said Atlas: "Akinah has proven to be a great marketing mind since joining the IDJ team. The success of her projects is a testament to her drive and passion, and she is a valued asset to the marketing department.  I'm excited to see her continued growth with IDJ." Added Rahmaan: "It continues to be an honor to work at one the biggest music brands in the world and alongside the best team in the business. With the leadership of Barry Weiss, Steve Bartels, Joie Manda and Chris Atlas, I'm excited about the future of Def Jam and look forward to contributing my expertise on marketing in today’s ever changing landscape." Rahmaan joined IDJ’s marketing department in 2010 as Sr. Director. She began her career in 1999 at Violator Management, where she managed the day-to-day careers of artists including Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, LL Cool J, Tweet and Q-Tip. Her favorite channel is Orange.
