THE “HO HEY,” PRE-WEEKND iTUNES CHARTS: The star power of Rihanna and Bruno Mars has pushed their latest singles past the mighty “Gangnam Style,” and that’s big news. But even bigger news looms just below, as The Lumineers’ little single that could, “Ho Hey,” appears to be reaching critical mass, rising to #4. What’s most mind-blowing about this irresistible blast of acoustic authenticity is that the populace as a whole has yet to discover it, meaning the sky’s the limit. Looking at albums, the two iterations of One Direction’s Take Me Home are bracketing the Top 5—no surprise there. But look what’s in between, with The Weeknd at #2 and Lana Del Rey’s new EP at #4. And smack dab in the middle is the soundtrack to the final Twilight film, a left-of-center potpourri with only one track—Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years, Pt 2”—available for individual purchase. Another point of interest: DeftonesKoi No Yokan is holding down the #8 slot. Overall, you might say this morning has become eclectic. (11/16a)
