APCH 2: Republic Mentoring

A PLACE CALLED HOME, PART 2: In addition to the Stars & Strikes poker and bowling tournament on 3/6 (see above), A Place Called Home (APCH), the L.A. safe haven for underserved youth, has partnered with Republic Records for #firstfans, a mentoring program designed to teach the APCH community about the music business. The year-long initiative kicks off with a new-music and artist-development session featuring Republic EVP Charlie Walk and hosted by Clear Channel's Julie Pilat. More #firstfans sessions will be coming up, with Republic artists visiting APCH and APCH members traveling to the label's Santa Monica HQ, where they will hear firsthand about such industry fundamentals as how to order sushi and sending calls from us to voicemail.
