Petty tour

INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN: Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will do a North American tour this summer—helpfully called the Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' 2013 Summer Tour—including appearances at Bonnaroo and other festivals, arenas and amphitheaters, plus multi-show residencies at N.Y.’s Beacon Theatre (May 20, 21, 23, 25 and 26) and L.A.’s Fonda Theatre (June 3, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 11). The tour—which It begins on May 16 in Evansville, IN, and concludes June 29 in Minneapolis—comes as the band takes a break from recording the follow-up to 2010's Mojo. The as-yet-untitled new record will be released on Reprise in 2014. (2/28a)
