Republic's Gangster Film

SOME FRIENDS OF OURS: No, it's not a sequel to The Sopranos, but a Republic Records-produced video dubbed The Cleaner, intended to introduce Clear Channel Radio to the label's hiring of veteran promo man Charlie Walk. The hilariously deadpan clip features a tough-talking Monte Lipman in a jaunty fedora, a cameo by Chaz Palminteri and Walk himself as a saffron-robe-clad Buddhist monk lured back into the promo fray just when he thought he was out. Check also for some special unbilled guest appearances in the clip, which you can see here. (3/11a)
