NEW MAN IN TOWN: Mike Kaplan is the new Program Director at Clear Channel’s 98.7 KYSR-FM in Los Angeles, starting May 6., where he will oversee all on-air and digital programming. He comes from Entercom Seattle, where he was most recently PD at KNDD and KMTT, and before that, programmed stations in Kansas City and New Orleans. “The opportunity to join the biggest Alternative rock station in the country is an honor and at the same time I'm psyched to join the #1 media company in the world,” said Kaplan. “And I get to be even closer to you bozos at HITS.” Added Clear Channel L.A. VP Programming Andrew Jeffries: “Mike is a leader and brand builder who boasts an impressive success record in his alternative programming career. I’m thrilled to have him join our talented Los Angeles programming team… but don’t quote me on that.” (3/18p)
