Another Daft Punk teaser on SNL

R.A.M.—THE REVEAL: Daft Punk’s teasers for Random Access Memories (Columbia, May 21) got more specific in the latest snippet to air during Saturday Night Live. This weekend’s clip previewed a full minute of a catchy new song, "Get Lucky”—the refrain goes “We're all up night to get lucky”—with Pharrell Williams singing, Nile Rodgers on guitar and the gleamingly metallic, CGI-treated duo on bass and drums. A slightly longer version of the clip was shown on the jumbotrons at Coachella Friday night. Daft has been trending on Twitter since the teaser aired. It was rocking all day Saturday after Coachella with the release of YSL robot photos and the Coachella handheld videos. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Pharrell said that he spoke with Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo at a party for Madonna, where they told him they were working on a new album. "Whatever you do, call me—I’ll play tambourine on it," Pharrell recalled telling them. "They looked at each other and they were like, ‘We’ll be in touch.’" Pharrell also sings on the album track "Lose Yourself to Dance." (4/15a)
