Coldwater reopens two days early!

CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC: As inhabitants of the San Fernando Valley, we’ve been having a helluva time getting “over the hill,” as the locals put it, since March 23, when the Valley side of Coldwater Canyon Ave. was shut down, creating massive congestion in the adjacent Laurel Canyon, Benedict Canyon and Beverly Glen as commuters sought alternate routes. The thoroughfare was closed in order for the DWP to replace a 99-year-old water line that ruptured in 2009, flooding the neighborhoods around Coldwater and Ventura Blvd. in Studio City and causing such a mess that nearly $8 million in legal claims were filed against the city. So it is with great relief that we discovered Coldwater had reopened Tuesday night, two days ahead of schedule. Just thought you’d wanna know. (4/24a)
