BEERS ACROSS AMERICA: Bud Light Music First, a summer program marking a partnership between the suds behemoth, Live Nation and UMG, among others, will reach its crescendo on Aug. 1 with--get this--concerts in all 50 U.S. states on one day. 50/50/1, as the nationwide event is called, will boast an eclectic lineup including Kendrick Lamar, Alex Clare, Flaming Lips, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Gaslight Anthem, Coheed & Cambria, Guster, The Hold Steady and many more. Fans will be able to download the BLMF app via the Apple and Android stores; it will be the primary source of updates regarding such prizes as headphones, Concert Cash, UMG music downloads and tickets. A half-million music-themed prizes are promised over the summer. Specially marked packages of Bud Light varieties will feature codes that can be entered into the app for a chance to win. Official rules and more info can be found here. Said Live Nation Network prexy Russell Wallach, "Through the Bud Light Music First program, we are able to bring together an entire nation, for the first time, in celebration of live music." In a related story, the title of this summer event is very similar to the unofficial UMPG motto, "First Light Bud, Then Music." (5/1p)
