Daft Punk to set new vinyl sales record

ISN’T IT IRONIC? When it's released next week on Columbia, Daft Punk's Random Access Memories will set a record for selling the most vinyl in a single week during the modern era. That’s right, boys and girls, the digital duo is about to snag the analog record—but the fact that they’re using real instruments on a record that honors the vinyl era makes the feat somewhat more fitting. Currently, Fleet Foxes’ 2011 album Helplesness Blues holds the record with 8.9k units sold. Based on preorders, Daft Punk should shatter that record with well over 10k in the first week. (5/17a)
