CAAN'T

SECRET AGENTS: Here's an update on the 78 mysterious ads taken out all over the Century City Mall near CAA: Deadline's Nikki Finke is reporting that none other than rival William Morris Endeavor is behind those CAAN'T ads. Though WME wouldn't claim the prank publicly, Finke quotes an insider there who says, "We thought it was funny. So we put it up. Someone did a logo here and arranged for the ads to go up around town, not just in Century City Mall but in other strategic places. We also arranged for someone to wear a 'CAANT' T-shirt on this morning’s Today Show. Everyone takes themselves too seriously. Have some humor." As you read earlier, the ads—using the agency's color and punning on its name—were slated to come down today. There's also a very minimal website, caant.com, featuring only a New York Post blind item about a certain Oscar-nominated director's rant. Was that director Silver Linings Playbook helmer David O. Russell, as some have alleged? (6/11p)
