A Night With Janis to B'Way

A PIECE OF HER ART: Janis Joplin will be joining the Motown greats and Kinky Boots' Cyndi Lauper on Broadway. Well, not Joplin herself, but acclaimed performer Mary Bridget Davies, whose uncanny evocation of the blues-rock firebrand is the core of the musical A Night With Janis Joplin. The production arrives at New York's Lyceum Theatre this fall, with previews starting 9/20 and opening night 10/10. A Night, written and directed by Randy Johnson, is produced by Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich in association with The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeff Jampol for JAM, Inc.; its runs in Pasadena, Cleveland and elsewhere have elicited stellar reviews. Tickets are on sale now to Audience Rewards members; a Facebook pre-sale kicks off 7/1, with a general on-sale kicking off 7/6. (6/26p)
