FROM HUNGER: Coldplay has a new track, the band’s first in two years, but it’s not on their new label, Warner Bros., nor is it from their next album, about which little is known. Nope, the track, titled “Atlas,” was written and recorded for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and it’ll be the first song to be made available from the Lionsgate/Republic soundtrack. This, by the way, is the first time Coldplay has ever recorded an original song for a movie. "Atlas" will arrive at the iTunes Store and all other digital retailers on Aug. 26. The film opens on Nov. 22, which just happens to be the 50th anniversary of the death of JFK, but that’s probably a coincidence. In the joint announcement from label and studio, director Francis Lawrence says he’s “thrilled with how well they have connected to the themes and ideas within the film," while Republic chieftain Monte Lipman enthused, "The creative alliance between Coldplay and The Hunger Games franchise will create a level of excitement and anticipation of epic proportions." And Jennifer Lawrence is still gorgeous. (8/9a)
