I WANT MY PRE-MTV: Republic's Austin Mahone and Ariana Grande will perform during the one-hour MTV VMAs pre-show, which will air live from outside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on 8/25. Mahone is a VMA Artist to Watch nominee; he'll perform "What About Love" from his forthcoming debut album. He'll also be giving one of several free pre-VMA "pop-up concerts" in the New York area on 8/24. Grande will perform her singles "Baby I" and "The Way" during the pre-show festivities, which will also feature a red-carpet set by Australian DJ NERVO. Grande and Mahone are also both slated to host installments of MTV's 10 on Top, on 8/17 and 8/24, respectively. There was also a pop-up concert, of sorts, at UMPG's Santa Monica offices today, when a security guard stuck his head out of an air vent and hummed the riff to "Smoke on the Water." (8/15p)
