iTunes $6.99 sale

SALE AWAY: Ten recent and current hit albums went up for sale Sunday at $6.99, and they immediately took over the leaderboard, with all but OneRepublic in the Top 10, and it's #11. Luke Bryan is the only non-$6.99 album on the chart right now. It’ll be interesting to see which of a modest slate of new releases will elbow their way into the thick of the action at the changeover. We’ll put our money on Republic’s Ariana Grande, which is selling for $7.99 on pre-order and presently sits at #15. Hers is one of three $7.99 sale albums in the Top 20, along with Teen Beach Movie (#14) and Bruno Mars (#18) also on sale, going for $7.99. The $6.99 sale runs through Thursday. (9/2p) UPDATE: We were right for once—Ariana Grande is #1 this morning, followed by the debuting Nine Inch Nails (Columbia) and Bastille (Virgin). But five $6.99 LPs remain in the Top 10. More soon.
