Ivan Gavin out

THE GAVIN REPORT: Ivan Gavin left his post as COO of Barry Weiss’ Republic & Island Def Jam on Friday (9/20). Weiss and Gavin worked closely together for more than a decade at Jive/Zomba, where the latter oversaw the company’s North American business for Clive Calder during the company's glory years. In 2002, Gavin was named COO of EMI Recorded Music North America, but six years later he returned to the RCA/Jive Label Group in the same capacity before following Weiss to UMG in November 2011.
