Ivana/IB joint tease: Arcade Fire on SNL

UNPRECEDENTED! That’s what HITS’ PoMo goddess Ivana says in her latest column about Lorne Michaels’ decision to give Arcade Fire their own half-hour special immediately following the band’s appearance on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live this weekend. The purpose of the show, according to an otherwise closed-mouth NBC, is to “celebrate the band’s eagerly awaited fourth album, Reflektor, hitting 10/29 on Merge. And in I.B. Bad’s upcoming column, posting first thing tomorrow, our in-house pundit notes that Reflektor is the most anticipated indie release of Q4, adding that some believe it could sell as much as 200k in its first week. That would be a huge number in indie annals, obviously. We’ll see what happens, but in the meantime, set your TiVos for 11:29 (for SNL) and 1 AM (for the special) on Saturday night/Sunday morning. And watch the SNL promos above, during which host Tina Fey pulls a Miley move. (9/26a)
