ON THE GOOD FOOT (UPDATE): As we mentioned on Wednesday, EA Sports has partnered with Drake to promote FIFA 14, the latest iteration of the internationally massive soccer (excuse us, rest of the world— "football") game for PS3 and Xbox. Drake will serve as an official spokesman for the game—EA's first from the music world—using video (such as the clip above), social media and more. Kudos to EA Worldwide Exec, Music Steve Schnur, whose footwork, by the way, is exceptional. Meanwhile, anyone purchasing the new game (which debuted earlier this week) gets a $5 discount toward Drake's new YM/CM/Republic release, Nothing Was the Same (which will be #1 in a walk on next week's HITS Album Chart). The hip-hop luminary squared off against Tim Cahill of the New York Red Bulls duringt the launch party at Union Square Ballroom in NYC, where Swizz Beats served as DJ and A$AP Rocky was among the other artists in attendance. Drake, playing as REAL Madrid, held the Australian midfielder's Red Bulls to a 2-2 tie; they restarted the match and Drake fended him off for nearly 90 minutes before Cahill finally scored. Considering Drake was up against a soccer pro, dude's got game. (9/27a)
