Isaac Green upped to SVP A&R at Columbia

ASHLEY & ISAAC: Sounds like a British Invasion-era folk duo, don’t it? But we digress. Isaac Green, one of Columbia’s brightest A&R stars, with Foster the People and Passion Pit among his scores, has been upped to SVP A&R. The five-year label veteran will continue to report to President Ashley Newton. Green formed the indie labels Startime International and Almost Gold Recordings, both of which are now Columbia imprints, the latter while working at Scott Rodger’s Quest Management. In the announcement, Newton praises Green for his “great acumen and style,” noting that his signings “have been extremely impactful for the label.” In a former life, he led Isaac Green and the Skalars, whose "High School" video was played a lot on MTV2. Ska, baby! (10/17a)
