Bruce album, single

YOU CAN GET HIGH IF YOU WANT: Bruce Springsteen will have a new studio album—his 18th—out on Columbia on 1/14. High Hopes reunites the Boss with Brendan O’Brien, who helmed each of Springsteen’s 21st century LP’s (apart from the Seeger Sessions side trip) until last year’s Wrecking Ball. Ron Aniello, who produced that LP, returns as co-producer. Bruce is backed by members of the E Street Band and Tom Morello, who appears on eight of the 12 tracks. High Hopes contains a new version of “The Ghost of Tom Joad,” a studio recording of “American Skin (41 Shots)” and a cover of Suicide’s “Dream Baby Dream”. The album just became available for pre-order at iTunes, and you also can grab the percussive, gospel-tinged title track, which is streaming above via VEVO. (11/25a)
