Steve Ferrara obituary

STEVE FERRARA, Columbia A&R VP, lost his battle with cancer, we learned today. He previously served as SVP A&R at RCA Music Group, working with American Idol and artists including Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Carrie Underwood, Rod Stewart and more and also spent three years as VP A&R at IDJ. He joined Columbia in 2011, with heavy involvement in TV properties like The X Factor and Glee. Prior to beginning his A&R career, Ferrara played in multiple bands and worked as a session musician, as well as producer/songwriter. Our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Ferrera is survived by his wife Camilla, his 14-year-old daughter Grace and 10-year-old son Guy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lung Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (300 East 66 St., New York, NY 10065) or at mskcc.org. A memorial service will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel on 2/3 at 4PM. (1/28p)
