iTunes UK

YE JOLLY OLDE iTUNES U.K. CHARTS: Each week, we’re struck by the dramatic differences when we A/B the British and U.S. Top 10s. Certain American acts—including Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Pitbull and Pharrell—travel extremely well, as does that Kiwi phenom Lorde. And a number of U.K.-based acts that are moving serious units over there—like the classical-meets-house combo Clean Bandit and DJ Fresh & Jay Fay from the Ministry of Sound stable—are virtually unknown in the States. There are also a couple of British hits from American artists that have yet to make noise in the States: a teaming of will.i.am and Miley Cyrus from his 2013 album #willpower and a U.K.-only bonus track from the Imagine Dragons album. And keep an eye on the young Capitol U.K. group 5 Seconds of Summer, whose EP tops the British chart and is just seeing the light of day over here. (2/7a)
