Columbia crushes at multiple formats.

MULTI-FORMAT MADNESS: Another coup for red-hot Columbia: The Rob Stringer-headed label has become the first to have two distinct titles chart at six different Mediabase radio formats simultaneously. Those would be Pharrell Williams' "Happy" and John Legend's "All of Me," both of which are now charting at Top 40, Rhythm, AC, Hot AC, Urban and Urban AC. You can add AAA to Pharrell's column as well. The two singles are now at #1 and #3 respectively at iTunes. "Happy" has already reached 130m in weekly audience, while "All of Me" is at 70m and climbing. Both have also been, along with labelmate Beyoncé's "Drunk in Love," among the three greatest gainers at radio for several weeks running. Mediabase CEO/President Philippe Generali cited the story as indicative of a how "more doors are opening for artists" at multiple formats. Proclaimed Columbia EVP/GM Joel Klaiman, "I'm so proud of the incredible job our entire promotion team, led by Lee Leipsner, has done with these songs. With great music, strategic planning and hard work, we've accomplished something extraordinary for these special artists. Now bring me my giant Pharrell hat, that I may wear it whilst dancing about my office with wild abandon." (2/25p)
