Top 10 tracks

TOP 10 TRACKS: When Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” moved 402k three weeks ago, the conventional wisdom was that the mega-smash couldn’t possibly sustain that dominating a performance. But the sucker has just kept on growing, the Oscars lifting it 19% to nearly 500k during the following sales period. Pharrell’s Columbia labelmate John Legend moved up two slots to #2—a distant #2, but still north of 200k. Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go,” the Oscar winner for Best Song, made a healthy 42% jump, and we suspect that from now on everybody will know her name, just like the gang at Cheers. The leaderboard boasts a pair of newcomers: the debuting lead single from Coldplay’s upcoming Ghost Stories, and the Valley Girls-meet-EDM mash-up of The Chainsmokers’ “#Selfie,” which went #20-10 with a 64% upward trajectory in its third week. We doubt that there’s much overlap between the buyers of these two confections.

1. Pharrell Williams, “Happy” – 490k
2. John Legend, “All of Me” – 210k
3. Jason Derulo f/2 Chainz, “Talk Dirty” – 195k
4. Idina Menzel, “Let It Go” – 182k
5. Katy Perry f/Juicy J, “Dark Horse” – 212k
6. Bastille, “Pompeii” – 117k
7. Coldplay, “Magic” – 114k
8. Aloe Blacc, “The Man” – 108k
9. Lorde, “Team” – 90k
10. The Chainsmokers, “#Selfie” – 88k

American Authors’ “Best Day of My Life,” which has been bouncing around in the teens for the last couple of months, experienced a 47% uptick to 83k the same week the band’s Island/IDJ album came out, bringing it to within 10k of a million. Must’ve been their performance on Live With Kelly and Michael that did the trick. (3/13a)
