Blue Note

A JAZZY NOTE: Blue Note at 75, a celebration of the Diamond Anniversary of the venerable jazz label hosted by the Kennedy Center and featuring an array of legendary artists, takes place from May 3-11, with free daily concerts and other attractions at venues around D.C. Performers will include McCoy Tyner, Wayne Shorter, Terence Blanchard, Bobby Hutcherson, Norah Jones, Jason Moran, Dianne Reeves, Lou Donaldson, Brian Blade, John Patitucci and many more. The celebration will culminate with Blue Note in Concert, featuring Jones, Shorter, Moran and surprise guests. L.A.’s Grammy Museum will also present a special exhibit of classic Blue Note cover art, and the Kennedy Center’s digital learning program ARTSEDGE (in conjunction with Digital Youth Network) will host a national online cover-art challenge for youth in four cities.
