Pharrell

WHO'S HAPPY NOW: "Happy" by Columbia's Pharrell Williams has made history again. The smash is the first to top six Mediabase radio formats, hitting #1 at Pop, Rhythm, AC. Hot AC, Urban and Urban AC; including AAA, it's charted at a total of seven formats. This follows on the heels of the song's setting a new record for weekly Mediabase audience at 272 million, surpassing Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines." Said Columbia EVP/GM Joel Klaiman, "I congratulate Pharrell and our entire promotion team under the leadership of Lee Leipsner and our department heads—Jon Borris (Top 40), Cynthia Johnson (Urban & Urban AC), Ayelet Schiffman (Rhythm), Pete Cosenza (Hot AC) and Jim Burruss (AC).” Media Monitors-Mediabase President/CEO Philippe Generali called the six-format #1 "a momentous occasion in the history of Mediabase."
