Rick James' Catalog Reissued

HE'S RICK JAMES, BITCH: Coinciding with the release of his autobiography, Universal Music Enterprises is reissuing Rick James' entire Motown catalog with a 109-track Complete Motown Albums digital box set, including nine albums and a selection of bonus tracks. Additionally, they will release six new Rick James-associated albums never before released digitally, including Rick James Presents Stone City Band In ‘N’ Out (1980), The Boys Are Back (1981) and Out from the Shadow (1983), as well as Rick James Presents Bobby M.: Blow (1982) and Val Young’s Seduction (1985). Lastly, on 7/15, the rare White Cane album, The Great White Cane, originally released by Lion/MGM, will be available for the first time since 1972. And Rhino will release the previously shelved Kickin' (1989) for the first time on any format, along with 1988's Wonderful. In honor of the news, we've already slapped on the spandex, coated ourselves in glitter and started gyrating around the office to "Super Freak." (7/8p)
