Shazam for Mac desktop

GET AN EARFUL OF THIS: Shazam is introducing a Mac desktop version of its app. Visible as a small icon on a Mac user's OS X menu bar, the app is designed to recognize every song played within reach of the computer. These are added to a list (seen right); users can then learn more by visiting a song page on Shazam's site or switch to iTunes for an instant purchase. Which means you can identify that winsome acoustic pop tune they play on a loop at Starbucks without having to look up from your screenplay. Shazam Chief Product Officer Daniel Danker adds you can also use it with YouTube and other media sites. He's also asked that we refrain from making weed jokes about his name, but that's impossible.
