TEEN BEAT: Zeroing in on its considerable younger-demo audience, BBC Radio 1 announced this morning that its fifth annual Teen Awards will take place on 10/19 will take place at Wembley Arena. Categories include Best British Group, Best British Vlogger, Best British Actor and Best British Sports Star. The show will also present three “Teen Heroes,” chosen from candidates nominated by listeners. Says Radio 1 Breakfast Show DJ Nick Grimshaw, who’ll return as emcee, “The Teen Awards are one of my highlights of the year... The crowd are always so up for it and the sheer noise of screams is out of control! I love the fact we honour teen heroes as well as pop stars. I can’t wait.” The Teen Awards will be broadcast live on Radio 1, with TV highlights on CBBC. (8/5a)
