TEA TOTALING: Last week, surging Warner Bros. finished in a dead heat with mighty Republic; this week, things are back to the new normal, with Monte Lipman’s 2013 champs and Steve Barnett’s CMG back in control, in a mirror image of their frontline finish (see 8/13 item below). Capitol, by the way, is a year ahead of schedule; the iconic label wasn’t supposed to contend until next season, but the combo of some talented youngsters and Barnett’s expert coaching have brought Capitol into the thick of things heading into what we like to call the money quarter.
