THE WILD, THE INNOCENT & THE 57^TH STREET HUSTLE: In the latest installment of Field Notes From a Music Biz Life, Michael Sigman describes the wacky culture of Record World, the scrappy trade rag that offered a down-to-earth alternative to the bible (sound familiar?) at the dawn of the 1970’s, and the author’s Catch 22-like rise up the ranks. The descriptions of Editor-in-Chief Sid Parnes and his partner in crime, Bob Austin, are priceless. This is a good one, and we can’t wait for next week’s excerpt (hint, hint). (10/8p)
