The leading indie “digital music club” announced its latest promotion as part of its A+R Access + Rewards program, “eMusic Summer School with Stevie Van Zandt,” scheduled for June 16 in N.Y.C. The event will include a one-hour discussion on the craft of rock and roll and “how to become a music tastemaker.”
“Our goal all along has been to super-serve core music fans,” explains Chief Marketing Officer Lee Nadler. “The A+R program proves members with one-of-a-kind experiences, discounts on musical equipment and hardware, special download promotions and education on ways to support the broader music community.”
The 25 participants, and their guests, will be chosen as part of a sweepstakes which begins May 24 until June 4. A drawing will be held on June 9. To enter, go to www.emusic.com/rewards.
Questions for Van Zandt can also be submitted in advance through the eMusic website and Facebook.
The veteran E-Street Band member explains he fully backs eMusic’s goal of supporting emerging artists through his own Renegade Nation rock and roll media company and Underground Garage radio network, which can be heard on Sirius XM and is syndicated around the world. “We enjoy working with eMusic because they share this philosophy and our perspective on what makes great music and how fans can help musicians recognize and create it."
“It’s pretty special to be able to give our members an intimate evening with Stevie Van Zandt,” adds Nadler, busy stuffing the ballot box through his BlackBerry. “He’s put together such an interesting perspective on rock & roll within the context of pop music history. He’s very focused on the process, which I think our subscribers will find fascinating.”
In the next month, eMusic will also be giving away VIP packages to this summer’s Pitchfork Festival in
“We're just a fan club for fans of music,” adds Nadler. “We constantly look for ways to improve our users’ experience. If you love music, like our members do, we’d love to hear your ideas as well as share the kind of opportunities we can provide.”
