Newly named EVP Promotion Rick Sackheim unveiled his restructured division under President/COO Steve Bartels today, which includes increased roles for vets Todd Glassman, Christine Chiappetta, Noah Sheer and Mike Chester.
Glassman has been hried as SVP Promotion, overseeing promotion activities at the Top 40 and Hot AC formats. The N.Y.-based executive served as Universal Motown SVP Promotion, since May 2009; and prior to that, VP Top 40 Promotion.
Chiappetta has been promoted to SVP Rock Promotion, overseeing all rock formats as well as assisting with marketing plans for rock and alternative bands on the label. The L.A.-based Chiappetta has spent nine years with IDJ, most recently as VP Promotion.
Sheer has been appointed VP Rhythm Promotion, working the Rhythm radio formats. Sheer, based in L.A., has spent 11 years with IDJ, starting as Mid-Atlantic Regional Promotion Manager in 2000. He was promoted to Senior Director, Rhythm Promotion, in 2004; and VP Top 40 Promotion, in 2008.
Chester has been promoted to VP Pop Promotion, focusing on Top 40 radio. Mr. Chester, who is based in New York, has spent six-years with IDJ, starting as Director of West Coast Promotion in 2005. He was promoted to National Director, Pop Promotion, in 2006; and Sr. Director, Top 40 Promotion, in 2008.
Said Sackheim in between catching a few waves at Zuma Beach: “Island Def Jam is blessed with the greatest radio promotion staff in the industry, hands down. Todd, Christine, Mike, and Noah are all well-seasoned and uniquely qualified to take on the new challenges in our promotion universe. We are confident that their leadership and imaginations will make IDJ Promotion the new gold standard. Now wait until I find each of them a nice pair of designer shoes and a wet suit.”
