GOLDEN GLOBE NOMS ANNOUNCED
The King’s Speech Leads with Seven Nods, The Fighter, Social Network Nab Six Apiece, Glee Tops TV Nominees with Five
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association may be a corrupt, petty organization, but the announcement of their 68th Annual Golden Globe Nominations is always the official start of the Awards season.

The King's Speech was the leading contender, with seven nominations, including one each for its co-stars Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, while on the TV side, Glee led the way with five.

The show once again will be broadcast nationwide in HD live on NBC, Sunday, January 16, from 5-8 p.m. (PST)/8-11 p.m. (EST) from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Biggest surprises? The almost universally panned Burlesque (3) received more nominations than the Coen brothers’ True Grit, which was shut out, along with the inexplicable nod for the mostly reviled Johnny Depp-Angelina Jolie movie The Tourist in the Comedy or Musical category, with Depp and Jolie both receiving nominations in Best Performance in a Motion Picture—Comedy or Musical.
