Veteran Columbia act Train are hardly up-and-coming, but their fifth studio release, Save Me, San Francisco, has produced one of their biggest hits ever, “Hey, Soul Sister,” which has been heating up the Hot AC dial, where it spent two weeks at #1, and is crossing neatly to Top 40, with WHTZ, WIOQ, WSTR, KDWB, KKRZ and more fueling its rise. Track sales are now at 1.4 million and counting, while it continues Top 5 at Digital Songs. Look for headline dates from March 4 through April 3. See their Vibe entry here.
Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Miami-based Haitian-American singer Jason Derulo follows up the 3-million-selling “Whatcha Say” with “In My Head,” the new song from his self-titled debut, now breaking at Crossover and hitting Top 40. The track is currently #6 at iTunes, while Derulo finishes up Lady Gaga tour dates and prepares for the album release March 2. Check him out on Vibe here.
The first track from Capitol/EMI U.K. pop diva V V Brown’s currently digital-only release, Traveling Like the Light, is “Shark in the Water,” which is gaining traction after being named iTunes’ Single of the Week. Triple A stations KCMP, WXPN and KRVB are among those already on board, as it hits Hot AC this week. Look for stateside dates starting next week, and appearances on Kimmel (2/.25) and Rachael Ray taping soon. Physical album hits March 30. For more, go here.
